Research Interests
Collective phenomena and ordering in condensed matter and biological systemsResearch Area
My laboratory is in the department of Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) at University of California, Berkeley. My research is focused on understanding the origin, evolution, and diversity of animals (and, more generally, other groups of eukaryotes) by combining computational genome analysis with comparative developmental biology. Our work focuses on advances at the interface between genetics, genomics, and computational biology - both applications and methodological development. Some areas of interest include new model organism genome assembly and annotation (both plants and animals), novel computational methods for analyzing sequencing data, and evolutionary genomics.Current Members
