The protein is nuclear localized and forms a heterodimer with the nf-yc subunit before associating with nf-ya for DNA binding. It is expressed in tissues including the brain, spinal cord, eye, otic vesicle, branchial arches, heart, pronephros, and tailbud during embryonic development. [-]
